Three Players from Winter Showcase Receive Trials in Italy
January 6, 2010
Three players in attendance at Apex Soccer's Winter Showcase were given opportunities to try out for several Italian soccer clubs.
Brian Kuritzky, Daniel Revivo, and Peter Akman each stood out to Winter Showcase coach Sead Karaselimovic, the head scout for Croatian first division team HNK Rijeka. Karaselimovic identified the players and will help coordinate their trials.
The main club vying for their services is Calcio Portogruaro Summaga, more commonly called Portosummaga. They currently sit at 6th place in the Italian third division with 27 points. Teams finishing 2nd-5th will enter a playoff, with the winner gaining Promotion to Serie B. A win this weekend could place them back in 5th place. There will be several other 3rd and 4th division clubs in attendance looking to add players to their teams.
The tryouts will take place from January 12th through January 15th. At the end of the trials, the players will either be signed, have their trial extended, or be sent home.
Stayed tuned for more information.
